Disecto is a commercial version of a small arm Chopper that began being marketed by Abbott's starting in 1942[1]

The magician first forces the blade of the small guillotine through a carrot, cutting it cleanly into two pieces. Next the blade passes through a victims wrist, at the same time it cuts through a lighted cigarette and then through the carrot in the lower hole.

Created from an idea by Lester Marvello Lake, it was sold as an exclusive to Abbott's.

Routines and applications were worked out by Percy Abbott's partner, Recil Bordner and was an immediate best-seller.[2]

The first six were sold to Charles Morgan, Dr. Boris Zola, Monk Watson, Harry Cecil, Dr. Zina Bennett, and Harold Ramm.
