DiedSeptember 12, 1972 (age 73)

"Doc" Mifflin was a semi-professional magician and partner in "Fun Novelty Company" in Shamokin, Pennsylvania.

Around 10 year of age, after moving to Paxinos, Pennsylvania, he started to give shows for neighborhood kids. He became a publicity man for "Chesterfield" cigarettes, due in large measure to a bit of magic which preceded sales talk. Children called him "the trick man" and followed from store to store to watch his demonstrations.

Mifflin founded "The Fun Shop" in 1933 and with his partner expanded it into the "Fun Novelty Co.," a wholesale business in 1937.[1][2]
