Dr. Carlosbach, perhaps a German, was a street magician who toured France.
He performed the Cups and Balls and sold little books of trick.
Robert-Houdin, as a young boy, saw him perform in Blois in 1824 and described him in his Memoirs of Robert Houdin (1859) as a "Conjurer and Professor of Mystification."[1]
