Dr. Z was the stage name of Stephen de Soboll, a semi-professional illusionist, mentalist, and hypnotist .
He received a Bachelor of Laws from Kramer Academy, St. Petersburg, Russia and a Doctor of Psychology from Columbia University.
His articles on suggestion and hypnotism where published in magic magazines and he was a member of the Society of Osiris Magicians[1]
He was the American correspondent for Goldston's Magical Quarterly and married the noted stage and film actress Mrs. Davis in 1939[2]
