E. S. Burns was the proprietor of the Atlas Novelty Company of Chicago, Illinois.

Their specialty was furnishing conjurers with magical apparatus of all description.

He began performing at the age of 15 and was one of the first in Chicago to join the Society of American Magicians. He was the Chicago reporter for the Sphinx magazine, starting with Volume 2 in 1903.[1]
