Ernie Kovacs
Ernie Kovacs (January 23, 1919 – January 13, 1962) was an American comedian whose uninhibited, often ad-libbed, and visually experimental comic style came to influence numerous television comedy programs for years after his death in an automobile accident.
Like many comedians of the era, Kovacs created a rotation of recurring roles including an inept magician character Matzoh Heppelwhite.
Kovacs hosted and performed magic on the Festival of Magic TV special in 1957.
