Frank Werner (1894-1956) performed a comedy magic act as "The World's Most Bewildered Magician" and served as National Vice President of S. A. M. (1948- 1949).

Biography

While still in his teens, he joined the Mollie Baily Circus as musician. Later, he was with various dramatic companies playing in small town halls, performing in the band and orchestra, and doing bit parts.

He served from 1917 until 1919 in the 36th Division, of the U. S. Army. After the War, Werner engaged in various enterprises until the mid-20's when he became a member of the safety section of the Humble Oil & Refining Company in Texas. In 1933 he moved to Houston and took over the Safety Division of American Republic Corporation.

In his safety work, Werner used his magic and music. IN the beginning, he used mostly small effects but later branched out. He eventually built up his comedy routine as "The World's Most Bewildered Magician" which has appeared at a number of local and national conventions.

He also served as Secretary of the Texas Association of Magicians, Publicity Chairman of IBM Ring No. 39 (of which he is a charter member) and as so served as Territorial Vice President of I.B.M.
