'Fred Rickard, a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles as a Chemistry Major, was a semi-professional magician specializing in large illusions.
He first met Floyd G. Thayer in 1927, and worked with Bill Larsen Sr. at Thayer's" in the 1940s. Rickard later worked with Merv Taylor and Owen Magic Supreme.
His wife, Hellen, whom he married in 1939 was a member of the Magigals.
He was elected into the SAM Hall of Fame in 1986.
Rickard was active in many magic organizations including the SAM, IBM, IGP, Mystic 27, Pasadena Magicians' Guild, the Magic Circle of England, and was a Charter and Life Member of the Magic Castle.[1]
