Gary Brown, a writer and magic historian, is the author of The Coney Island Fakir, a biography of sideshow magician Al Flosso. His articles about magicians, spiritualists, gamblers and carnival performers have appeared in popular and trade magazines in the United States, Europe and Australia. He appears as an on-camera commentator for "Grand Illusions," a fifty-part series on the history of magic produced for The Discovery Channel - Canada.
