Gary Plants is a retired high school chemistry teacher who has been interested in close-up magic for over 40 years. He has had a strong interest in gambling related material and over time became good friends with Ricard Turner, Steve Forte, Rod Dee, Jason England and many others. Original tricks have been published in many magazines and books such as "Linking Ring Magazine", "Genii Magazine", "Precursor Magazine", "Apocalypse", "Imagick", "Trapdoor Magazine", and many others.

Over the years Gary has attended many magic conventions including FFFF, 31 Faces North, Las Vegas Desert Magic Seminar, L.A. Magic History Conference, T.A.O.M.,Columbus Magi-Fest, Dallas Super Session, OKC Super Session, and numerous I.B.M and S.A.M. Conventions.

Gary is probably best know for his handmade gaffed cards. He began making handmade gaffed cards in 1993 and has made cards for professional magicians all over the world. His magic business is "The Card Plant".

His most inspirational magicians have been Dai Vernon,Juan Tamariz, and Del Ray.
