George "Duke" Corregan (1897-1971) was a semi-profession club performer.

Biography

He was a member of SAM (No. 924), IBM (no. 41), IMC (no. 130) and The Magic Circle.[1]

Corregan was charter member of Boston Assembly No. 9, he was an owner, operator and president of Purdy Photographers in Boson. [2]

He produced Assembly No. 9's official bulletin "The Barnstormer" and was managing editor for many years. For 20 years, he ran a humorous personal-interest column, headed as "Dear Uncle Koko, Esq." It was years before members realized that the initials of the heading spelled out a clue to the unknown author, "D-U-K-E".

Corregan contributed his magical ideas to the Sphinx. His Four Ace Trick, published in 1922 was a favorite of Ted Annemann. He also marketed "Be a Human Calendar" and "Unkle Koko's Kloryphyll Kard Trick". He authored a column "Spilling the Beans" in The Seven Circles in the 1930s. [3][4]
