Gloria Ruth Jacobsen Palmer Marcom (1927-2002) was a magician and assistant most remembered for her Vampira act.

Biography

She grew up in Cokeville, Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming. In 1947, she married Tom Palmer (Maskelyne ye Mage/Tony Andruzzi) and toured with him for many years. Their comedy act inspired Kohl and Company and The Great Tomsoni and Company.

Palmer helped her develop her act "Vampira", which she performed for many years.

In 1963, she divorced Palmer and went to work at Douglas Magicland in Dallas, Texas. She then helped establish "The Elders", a magic company based in Dallas with John and Rose Gladfelter and Van Cleve.

In 1968, she married Ralph Marcom and for many years they performed together. They also performed together at renaissance festivals for several seasons as "MarcoM the Mountebank and Lady Gloria."

She was a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Magi-gals (secretary) and the Texas Association of Magicians and for several years in charge of the Dallas Magic Club's Wizards' Scroll.[1]
