Gordon W. Mattice (1907-1982) was a Reverend and amateur magician.

Biography

As a boy, he knew Hardeen when they lived on 113th Street in New York City, across from his own home.

A member of I.B.M., Order of Merlin, from Ring 140 (Ithaca. NY), Mattice wrote a column called "Magiministers" for Genii magazine in 1939 and into the 1940s.[1][2][3]

Mattice was the founder and adult leader of the Corning-Elmira Youth Magic Club (C.E.Y.M.C.), active throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, which launched the magic careers of hundreds of boys and girls in upstate New York. Members included Edd Hall[4], who later became the announcer on The Tonight Show.
