H&R Magic Books was founded by Richard Hatch and Charlie Randall in the 1990s.

In 2010, they sold the business to their former office manager, Marshall Petersen in Beaumont, Texas.

Randall continues to run the publishing branch of the company and Hatch will work with Marshall in an advisory capacity and helping out at conventions.
