Harry A. Tunks was a semi-professional magician, ventriloquist and a colonel in the United States Air Force .
He ran away from home to join a medicine show when a kid, and later on joined the Army.
Tunks was well known in magic circles in the southwest and in Hawaii where he was stationed for a number of years. He carried I.B.M. No. 6973 starting in 1965. He received the French Croix de Guerre for his service in World War I and was also a veteran of World War II. While in the Service he did many shows of magic in Hawaii and the Philippines.
It was reported in the Linking Ring that Tunks was on an early TV program in San Antonio, Texas, in which he presented magic in 1952.
