Bruno Warnecke (c.1868-1961) born in Germany became a magician in the United States and toured with a full evening magic show for many years.

Biography

Warnecke left Hamburg, Germany on August 5, 1885 on the steamer Moravia and arrived in New York City August 19th. He made his way to San Francisco by train where he got his first job at a night club and saw a magician performing. Thinking he could do that, he too the stage name Professor Harry Heller and by 1888 he did his first full stage show at the Standard Theatre in San Francisco.

While performing a now in 1895, he met Howard Thurston and they became friends. By 1898, he dropped the stage name of Harry Heller and went back to using his real name, Bruno Warnecke

Warnecke made his home in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At the age of 92, the Carl W. Jones IBM Ring 19 gave him a tribute on February 18, 1960 in which he also performed.
