Holdout (or Hold-out) is any device that feeds objects (e.g. coins, cards) to or from the hand. Usually associated with gambling cheats.

Jack Miller was an expert on the use of the holdout and popularized it. Modern masters include Bob Fitch and Bob Kohler, each of whom independently developed improvements to the device and/or new techniques.
