Homer Liwag is a magician and designer known for his coin magic and underground status. He is currently Creative Design director for David Copperfield.
- In 2010, DeckOne was designed by Homer featuring one of the most unique card boxes every manufactured. The box has the look of worn, military grade, black stamped steel and is heavily embossed on all sides. The back design was inspired by movie conceptual art that has influenced Homer over the last 30 years. A unique design for the Jokers, the Ace of Spades as well as a distressed patina on the court cards complete the look.
Until recently, Liwag has kept himself out of the magic limelight, and although he worked at Illusions magic restaurant in Indiana from 1989-1994, his published work has been relatively small.
He is best known for his work with Chris Kenner, and co-illustrated and co-wrote his best-selling book, Totally Out of Control, as well as helping him with his short-lived publication, the Magic Man Examiner. Homer illustrated Magic from the Soul, by René Lavand as well as original art for Rudy Coby's infamous "Dead-Rocker" stamps routine.
Most of the work Liwag has published is in hard to find publications such as Magic Man Examiner and The Minotaur. A short set of never before seen lecture notes, featuring 3 of Homer's pet routines, was published in 2008 - The Rice Papers.
- CoinOne: Liwag released his first DVD, CoinOne in 2006. The DVD contains his underground coins across routine (previously published as Four Coins and a Filipino in Magic Man Examiner by Chris Kenner - 1991), and another bonus routine by Chris Kenner. The DVD is highly acclaimed for the quality of the routine, as well as being considered a new standard of magic instruction - using motion graphics, slow-motion sequences and a dynamic performer's point of view. CoinOne was also known for its unique, custom designed packaging - which is now sold out (standard editions are now available).
- CoinTwo: Following the success of CoinOne, Coin Two was announced. The DVD contains two coin routines and follows CoinOne's successful "animated graphic teaching style". CoinTwo also featured many extra features; including montages, easter eggs, and a comic look at "the worst hands in magic". CoinTwo's unique "folio" packaging was limited to a run of 1000 and is currently sold out.
- The Rice Papers DVD: As the video edition of Homer's rare lecture notes, The Rice Papers feature 3 of Homer's pet, highly visual routines.
