Jimmy Lake (c.1909-1985), who specialized in gospel magic featuring silks, served as International President of both the I.B.M. (1951-52) and the Fellowship of Christian Magicians.[1]

Biography

Lake was a mainstay of IBM Ring 17 in Toronto for over 40.[2]

As a boy in England, he enjoyed ventriloquists and Punch and Judy operators at Blackpool, then emigrated to Canada in 1927. It was not until 1938 that he saw magic performed as an act.

During the early 70s, Lake devoted his work to Gospel magic and toured the country with his act on behalf of the church. He then developed a skill in producing special design on silk for use by magicians.

Lake also organized the Silver Wand Club for youngsters in Toronto, meeting in the basement of Bathurst Heights Public Library for many years.[3]
