Joseph A. Klein opened the Bamberg Magic and Novelty Company in 1909 at 1193 Broadway, New York City in partnership with Okito.

While minding the store and toying with one of Klein's pillbox, Bamberg invented his famous Okito Coin Box used to perform coin magic.

In August of 1914, the world war started and all imports from Germany were cut, which was the final blow for the Company which had been ailing for some time. Bamberg and Klein dissolved the partnership.

Klein published The Record and National Magic News.

He was S.A.M. member number 295.[1]
