Judge Frank Carter (1892-1969) was an amateur magician and an elected judge in Wisconsin for 43 years.[1]

Biography

He began as a teacher before enrolling in the Marquette College of Law, in Milwaukee. He graduated in 1914 and was elected Chairman of the town of Eagle River.

In 1915, helped organize the Houdini Club of Wisconsin and later served as one of its officers. He also edited their newsletter Houdini Gram.

In 1918, Carter was elected as Vilas County Judge which he served until he retired in January 1962.

He was the first member of the International Brotherhood of Ventriloquists and later became its president.

He carried I.B.M. No. 2049 which he joined in 1927 and was a member of Ring 31 in Madison, Wisconsin. He was also a member of the S.A.M. [2]
