Kardor (?-2011) was the stage name which Robin DeWitt began performing as a comedy mentalist in 1980.
Biography
Wearing a long black cape and satin-like gold turban with an antenna projecting from the top, Kardor (a comical take on "car door") would entertain general audiences and fellow members of the Psychic Entertainers Association at their annual meetings.
His first "store bought" magic trick was the Buddha Papers that his Uncle Don had managed to find in the middle of World War II.[1]
DeWitt joined the Psychic Entertainers Association and then met Tony Andruzzi, who introduced him to Bizarre Magic. [2] He appeared at every Weerd Weekend and all but one of the Invocationals.
DeWitt was active in "The Elders," a Southern California mentalism group founded by Ed Fowler (the first "medium" at the Magic Castle's Houdini Seance, and the guy who created the presentation performing as "Carlyle").
DeWitt worked behind the counter at Magic World in Chatsworth, California in the 1990s.[3]
His "Pens-O-Metric" was published in Magick No. 233 (1979).
