Lu Brent (November 24, 1903 - ?) was born Boleslaw Lubrant. The name Lu Brent came accidentally, from a clerk's mistake, when Lu enlisted for six years in the Army, in 1921. Lu liked the mistake and kept it.

He was an originator, that came up with new ways to present other magicians' effects. His first trick appeared in The Sphinx called Penciltration Matchik in Vol. 26, N° 9, nov. 1927, page 319.
