Lu Brent (1903 - 1993) was a semi-professional magician starting in 1927. He specialized in small magic.[1]

His legal name was Benjamin Joseph Lubrant. The name Lu Brent came accidentally, from a clerk's mistake, when Lu enlisted for six years in the Army, in 1921. Lu liked the mistake and kept it.

He was known for coming up with new ways to present other magicians' effects. His first trick appeared in The Sphinx called Penciltration Matchik in Vol. 26, No. 9, nov. 1927, page 319. He also contributed to Magigram and Jinx.

Brent's 80th birthday celebration was reported in New Tops, July 1984.
