Martin L. Sunshine (1897-1978) performed as "Kismet" the magician around the world and as the feature performer at the Northernair Showboat in Wisconsin for over 30 years. His first full time job was with the Associated Press in New York, and also at a chemical research laboratory for a while before performing full time.
Biography
He began professionally in 1907, specializing in second sight.
Sunshine was a friend of Harry Houdini and a charter member of the Society of American Magicians,
During World War II, he was the first entertainer to travel to the South Pacific theater as part of the USO.
He was also a magic dealer, inventing "color vision" (which won awards from two national magician societies in 1952) and has been credited with originating the Center Tear. [1]
