Michael Hatal (1869-1899) was a magician killed while performing the dangerous Bullet Catch Trick.[1]

Biography

Hatal was a cabinetmaker, living at No. 44 First Avenue, New York City, and devoted much of his leisure to conjuring.

He billed himself "The Hungarian Herrmann" (in homage to Alexander Herrmann).

He was giving a performance at an Odd Fellows benefit in a hall at No. 197 East Fourth street, when he received the injury which cost him his life.[2]
