Psycrets: British Society of Mystery Entertainers was born from communication on niche magic, mentalism and bizarre magick web forums. The first 'Tabula Mentis' meeting was arranged in Treadwells Bookshop in Covent Garden London on July 7, 2007. The meeting of like-minded UK and European based mentalists, bizarrists, storytellers, readers, spiritualist performers, and other 'mystery' entertainers generated so much interest that it was subsequently formally established by Dr. Todd Landman, Roni Shachnaey and Steve Druryas as a private association dedicated to mystery entertainment rather than 'magic'.

Psycrets hosts a bi-annual Tabula Mentis. Many notable lecturers have featured at these meetings including David Berglas (in 2008) who was bestowed their "Griffin Award" and named "Grand Master of Mystery" by the society.
