Palingenesia was an illusion created by Thomas Tobin in 1872 which a spectator is dissected and then restored. It was once billed as "Another Man Cut Up Tonight".

Neil Patrick Harris and Jonathan Levit revived Palingenesia at the ninth Magic History Conference in Los Angeles (2005).
