Most of the effects in Close up Kinda Guy were not used in AOA. They struck a deal with Tannen's Magic (who own the rights) where they would only be allowed to choose seven effects for AOA. A couple of items in there had been published in other places, so they got a few more than seven. Paul really didn't want [[Hey there Baby Cakes]] in AOA but Eric Mead thought it was funny.

Paul Harris effects not included in the compilation Art of Astonishment:

Most of the effects in Close up Kinda Guy were not used in AOA. They struck a deal with Tannen's Magic (who own the rights) where they would only be allowed to choose seven effects for AOA.
