The Pom-Pom Prayer Stick was created by Louis Histed and was described in his book The Magic of Louis S. Histed, published in 1947 by Goodliffe Publications (Publisher of Abradacabra magazine).

The prop consist of a single stick with four tassels, two on each end, usually of different colors. The effect is an illogical sequence where it seems like there is an extremely complicated arrangement of strings between each tassel. But at the end the stick is be taken apart and shown empty and void of any strings at all.

Louis Histed creation was inspired by an older trick called "The Rod and Beads".
