Professor Milton Henderson (?-1925), Milton H. Grannat, was a New York drawing room entertainer.

Biography

He was one of the crew of the Federal iron-clad, the Monitor, during the American Civil War and participated in the battle between the Monitor and the Merrimac. Retiring from the Federal Navy at the close of the Civil War, he became a magician. [1]

A handbill for his "Wonders of Magic Drawing Room Entertainments" lists Punch and Judy, Shadow Pantomimes, Spiritual Phenomena, Miniature Minstrels, and Tableaux Vivants. His magic repertoire included the Cups and Balls, Linking Rings, card tricks, the Egg Bag, Die through Hat, and a canister for turning sawdust into candy.

Henderson remained active in magic until the 1920s and died in New York City on May 11, 1925 well past eighty years of age.[2]
