Retlaw Rendrag (1881-?) was the amateur magician and photographer Walter Gardner in Ware, Massachusetts.[1]

Biography

Rendrag has the distinction of assisting Jay Marshall with his nickname. At a meeting of the Boston SAM assembly, Marshall was amused upon being introduced and discovering that Retlaw Rendrag was his real name backwards. He responded by introducing himself jokingly as The Great Jasper. Marshall's new nickname caught on.[2]
