Robert Olson worked for Magic Dealer Connie Haden in late 1950s, pitching magic at his dealer's tables at conventions, bending nail writers at Haden shop, etc. Joined SAM at age 18. Developed comedy magic, working close-up and MC work for magic conventions in late 1950s, and early 1960s. Co-wrote a column in Hugard's Magic Monthly, with John V. Hope, on Coin Magic. Left NYC to work as woodworker in mid 1960s. Developed 19th century magic show, performing as black magician Richard Potter, first successful American magician. Worked in trade shows for Tommy Tucker in early 1970s. In mid-1970s, he began work at museum Old Sturbridge Village(OSV) in Massachusetts, a 25 year career. Left OSV in 2001 to pursue successful career as performing magician, with museums, historical societies, private parties, corporate shows, etc. Charter member of the Nordic Knights of Necromancy.
