Sands of the Desert

Sands of the Desert (or "Sands and Water" or "Colored Sands" or "East Indian Sand Trick") is an illusion in which a different colors of dry sand are stirred into a bowl of water and then magician reaches in to bring out a fistful of any colored dry sand.

The trick is said to be of Indian origin and was being performed in England by 1818.

Doug Henning performed it on one of his TV specials.
