Seamus Burke developed an act of entering, rather than escaping, which he called "enterology."

Burke, who never attended school, served in the British Army during World War I. After the war he worked as an elevator operator and began write songs for music hall acts.

In 1902, after a briefly joining the IRA, he build a shack in mountains of the Dublin and lived as a hermit. He eventually returned to England to peruse his writing career.
