Sir Edwards (1893-1969), with his wife Connie (?-1962), performed a mentalism act around the Indianapolis area.[1]

Biography

He served with the Royal Flying Corps in World War 1 and for several years after the war operated his own detective agency in Philadelphia.

In 1932, he began doing his mentalism act and selling astrological forecasts in leading chain stores. In 1936, he married a Constance, who was known as Connie, forming a mentalism act together.

He later started a used magic magazine business and at one time had an inventory of over 20,000 issue of over 130 different publications.

Edwards was very active in the affairs of the I.B.M., organizing and serving as president of the Indianapolis Ring No. 10, and was a member of the S.A.M. [2]

He developed a straight-jacket escape publicity stunt in which he would hang from airplanes and helicopters.[3]

He once did his straight-jacket escape hanging from beneath a helicopter at a fair. While the pilot could not see him, he kept banging his head on the ground to the accompaniment of curses. It was only funny after learning he suffered no damage, other than maybe his ego.[4]
