Biography
Neil was never a performer, but was married to a lady magician whom performed as Madame Patrice. She was a student of Charles Bertram.
His non-magic writings reflected his interest in travel and adventure.
He wrote The Modern Conjurer which was one of the earliest magic books to use photographs, over 500 of them. Neil was not the first to use photographs to illustrate a magic book, but he was the first to use them to convey body language and hand movements.
