Rell M. Woodward (1862-1915), a surgeon and amateur magician, graduated in Medicine at the Miami Medical College, Cincinnati, Ohio.[1]

Biography

In 1887, he entered the United States Marine Hospital Service and served in Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Cairo, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Detroit, Rotterdam in Holland, and Reedy Island Quarantine in Delaware Bay. He served three years as Assistant Surgeon-General in Washington.

His first performance before an audience was at the age of six in his own parlor in Boston. He was friends with quite a large circle of friends among magicians, including W. D. Leroy and S. Willson Bailey.

He was a member of the Society of American Magicians and served as Vice-President of the Society of Detroit Magicians.[2]

Some of his effects were published in The Sphinx.
