In his twenties, Hunt managed Carnage's Magic Shop. By the end of the 1920's he had moved to Brooklyn, New York where he became a close friend of Annemann, Al Baker and Allen Shaw. Annemann reproduced Hunt's business card in the November 1935 issue of the Jinx.

In 1935 he accepted an offer to work in on of Australia's largest retail store, where he worked his way up to be Chairman of Directors in 1964.

He always kept magic as a hobby and co-founder the I.B.M. Ring 84 in Melbourne. Some of his specialties were The Color-Changing Waistcoat, the stamp album trick, and a dice stacking routine.

His 1934 act in New York was described in Programmes of Famous Magicians by Holden.[1]
