Gen was an English periodical founded by Harry Stanley that was published over 26 years from his Unique Magic Studios, starting just after World War II.

It ran, starting in December 1945, for 23 years.[1]

Lewis Ganson was the editor until the magazine changed hands in 1971, where it continued under the editorship of Val Andrews for a further two issues as the New Gen.

The New Gen

Ganson published material that would later show up in his books including Routined Manipulation, The Art of Close-Up Magic, The Dai Vernon Book of Magic, Inner Secrets of Card Magic and The Magic of Slydini.

It started with 3 mimeographed issues while Stanley was still in the army.
