The Secrets of Houdini by J. C. Cannell was first published in 1931 and exposes some key Houdini methods. It also contains a collection of rare photographs.

Cannell, a journalist, author, and amateur magician, makes reference to "his friend" Will Goldston within the first few paragraphs of his introduction and the book includes a photo of Houdini and Goldston. It's quite possible that Goldston helped with writing the book.[1]

David Blaine in his show "David Blaine: Beautiful Struggle" on the Travel Channel, stated his interest in magic started when he saw the image of Houdini on the cover of the Dover edition in his local library.
