Twister illusion is a combination of the Head Twister and the Disembodied Princess to make a twisted body, like a towel, appear inside the cabinet after the head has been spun around.

History

Lou Lancaster claims he came up with the idea for his version while in New York.[1]

Franz Harary stated in an interview in Genii 2008 January that he designed his version in 1986, which started as an effect he created for Alice Cooper. Later, he discussed with Ed Alonzo (who actually built a version), about combining the head twister with a sword cabinet, along with a Mark Wilson effect of two animated hands. David Copperfield's letter of thanks to Alonzo for his help the Twister illusion performed on his 11th TV special was published in Genii 1988 September.

Dean A. Montalbano's version called "THE DISEMBODIED/TWISTER" was published in New Tops, July 1989.
