Book covers
Including the book covers from Google books is a great idea!
Availability
I think the new sections you are created under books called "availability" would be better located under "editions" like http://geniimagazine.com/wiki/index.php/Sharps_and_Flats. What do you think? Or maybe a subsection under "editions"? Joe P. 16:03, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
That seems fine if you prefer that. I just felt like it called it out a little bit more to indicate that that the title was freely available if it had a section. Perhaps I could move the info in the new section down to the editions but also include links in the caption of the book image?
- Let's leave it as a section called "Availability", but make it the last section (before any "References" or "Navigation" menus). It has external links and I try to keep all external links to a minimum and at the bottom of the articles.
P.S. Once we've agreed on something I'll go back and fix all the pages I've done so far (Modern Magic, The Art Of Magic, Modern Coin Conjuring, etc.) to reflect the new standard.
- I'm going to take a stab at creating a book infobox like I did for magazines (see Abracadabra), which will be a nice place to put the book covers and maybe allow for a link to google books (if available there).
P.P.S. Is there a page that details how to do the talk page? For example, is there an easy way to get the user tag and timestamp you had at the end of your entry? John M.
- To put the info at the end of a talk page just use four tildes (~~~~) or only 3 if you don't want the date. MagicPedia is using the same software as Wikipedia. So if you don't find the info you need here, you can always check to see how they do it there (like Wikpeidia talk page help).
- Thanks again for helping out with MagicPedia! Joe P. 19:25, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
