William H. Lane (Willane) (1898-1955) was an English magician who appeared with at many conventions and in London theatres combining magic with music.
Biography
Willane entered magic comparatively late in life. He took lessons from Edward Victor and founded the ARCAS magic publishing house.
Bruce Posgate wrote that Will Lane was connected with a family of wholesale fruit businessmen in the Southwest London district. He was a quiet, reserved man, and never spared expense with his hobby of magic.
He performed a comedy "drunk" act,"Immaculate Inebriate" with special effects including a huge candle which grew out of the table and inquisitive rabbit which kept bobbing up and down out of his top hat.[1][2]
Willane was a member of the Magic Circle of London.[3]
