Woody Allen (born Allen Stewart Konigsberg; December 1, 1935) is an American screenwriter, film director, actor, comedian, writer, musician, playwright and amateur magician.

Biography

Allen used to impress his fellow students with his extraordinary talent at card and magic tricks.

Milton Berle was a figure of awe to a 14-year-old Woody, who - along with some friends at New York's celebrated Circle Magic shop - introduced himself to Berle, another customer, as somebody nifty with cards. In his nervousness Allen fumbled the cards, and missed the chance of a TV spot.

In his late teens, one of his routines was published in Genii Magazine (May 1952) under the column TOWNS' TEEN TOPICS.
