Yuka Shimoda took first prize in the 1984 SAM stage competition.

She also placed second in the World Cup competition in 1986 and third in the General Magic category at the 1988 FISM in Holland. In 1991 she was awarded the Mandrake d'Or prize at the Festival de la Magie in France.
