The Automatic Deck and Opening Routine was a marketed Mechanical Deck by Jean Hugard in 1933[1] and later published in Hugard's Magic Monthly (Vol. 3, No. 11, April 1946).

The routine starts with the deck rising from the case, then used in three routines, each one leaving the deck in perfect order for the subsequent trick.

The routine allowed for deck to be riffle shuffled twice, a concept that anticipated the Gilbreath Principle.
