Los Angeles Roundtable was started in 1946 by former New York Roundtable member Joe Sternbach, along with Gerald Kosky, Dr. Raymond Beebe, and Charlie Goodman.[1]


The originally started meeting at Mike Lyman's then moved to Cliffton's Cafeteria in 1947 and continued to meet there until the 1970s. Prior to the Magic Castle, this was the mecca for visiting magicians on the West Coast.

Other early members were Hal Robbins, Elmer Biddle, Dr. Hayes, Bill Larsen, Sr., Bill McCaffrey and Bill Taylor.
