Pitchman is a person who sells novelties, jewelry, etc. from a stand on a city street or at a carnival.
Magic items often pitched are the Svengali Deck and the Wonder Mouse.
Many of the techniques used by pitchmen to gather a crowd have been used by Trade Show magicians.
Some magician pitchmen have been: Ali Bongo, Joe Stuthard, Ron MacMillan, Joe Nickell, Eddie Fields, Mac Macdonald (a one armed magic pitchman) and Mark Lewis . The only one of these who is still active nowadays is Mark Lewis, a trade show magician.
