== Biography ==
Thomas Ady was a physician who lived in the reign of King James I, and apart from his books, little else is known of him.
Ady wrote this to augment Scot's Discoverie of Witchcraft and to further prove that those being accused of witchcraft were just magicians. Amongst other items, he explains how the conjurers (whom he calls "jugglers") did their tricks.


Henning was born on May 3, 1947 in the Winnipeg suburb of Fort Gary, Manitoba to father Clarke Henning (an air line pilot for Air Canada) and  mother Shirley Jean Henning (nee Rutherford.)

At six years old, he watched [[Richiardi Jr]] on the [[Ed Sullivan Show]] float a young lady in mid-air. When he asked his mother how it's done, she told him, "That's magic!" Doug was hooked. He soon finds his way to the local library where he finds the usual library books on magic. An industrious Doug then makes his props from cardboard, tin cans, and construction paper; he then talks his parents into buying a magic kit.
